Tapping with Kids
Disappointment is Something We Learn to Handle…or We Don’t. Learning how to share news we don’t like, and how to handle receiving and giving it, are valuable gifts we can give to our children more easily than we think.
Since so many of my clients come to a place of feeling unseen or unheard, it occurred to me that a good place to begin with our own children would be Learning to Listen more fully and consciously. When we do, we’re less likely to make incorrect meaning around things, or overly personalize what is said to us.
If you plan for it, vacations or outings with a blend of families, friends and generations can provide an interesting ‘neutral ground’ to create an opportunity for a more satisfying, fun holiday adventure.
Tapping Tools & Tips
Want to know a secret for Tapping success? Just Do It! Let the Tapping do the work. You don’t have to think so hard! Instead, just try feeling what you feel, as you Tap. That’s right. FEEL whatever it is you’re feeling. Keep Tapping as you do. Allow yourself to find the feeling in your body.
Here in NYC, I often hear folks say they just don’t have time to Tap. Which means they don’t Tap until long after they’re in trouble or pain or they’re already in steadily worsening situations. So what can we do about that? We know Tapping is not just for when things are bad — we know that Tapping can actually keep things from getting ‘bad’ in the first place.
Tapping is a life-processing tool; Life needs processing! – most of us need ‘Life processing’ everyday. So why not use your best Tapping Buddy – that’s YOU – to Tap whenever discomfort, confusion or wounding happens?

These times call for something different than the classic Tapping you have been taught. We shorten and tighten the protocols for easy to recall, immediate use to reduce the overwhelm, panic, shock and confusion brought on by our threat response systems. And even better it helps to prevent our system from ‘encoding’ the trauma in our nervous system and minds.
